About Us

Amy Herzog, the founder of Rise and Thrive Solutions, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience working in healthcare. She began her work in pediatrics while obtaining her first Bachelors Degree in Psychobiology with an emphasis in the Neurosciences from Florida Atlantic University, followed by a Master’s in Public Health from Florida International University. This led her to a rewarding 15-year career in Clinical Research. She decided to further her education at

Kennesaw State University with a second Bachelors Degree in Nursing and

worked in the Intensive Care Unit for 5 years. There she refined her skills in treating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. She continued to advance her career, becoming a Certified Critical Care RN, and then obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama. There she specialized in psychiatry to fulfill her desire to reach her patients sooner and focus more on the prevention of chronic disease.

She is a native of South Florida, where she lived for 27 years. There she fell in

love with the science of the brain, specifically, the biological basis of

behavior and the psychological response from trauma. The focus of her

practice is on the treatment of mood disorders, neurodivergence, trauma

response, psychotic disorders, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness

through psychiatric assessment, medication management, and brief

psychotherapeutic intervention across the lifespan. She believes in creating an individualized plan of care that addresses the most pressing issues for each person, and she values their individual goals for creating a purpose-filled life through interprofessional collaboration and evidence-based practice. Her goal for her clients is to assist in empowering them to create the life they want through supportive education in a stigma-free environment. She is passionate about improving the mental and emotional well-being of her clients while working to stop the stigma surrounding mental health in the greater community. Rise & Thrive Solutions was created with the intention of assisting those in the community to rise above their current obstacles so that they may thrive within.
